Australian Collagen Powder

Hydrolysed collagen is an odourless, tasteless, dairy free protein source. Research shows it's particularly beneficial for gut health, joint and tendon health, recovery and hair, skin and nails. This is because it contains a unique combination of 18 amino acids, including Glycine, Hydroxyproline and Proline which account for nearly half of collagen's amino acid content.

After age of 20 our bodies produces around 1% less collagen each year, leading to sagging skin, brittle hair and nails, and reduced joint and tendon flexibility. The best way to combat collagen loss is to supplement with collagen protein. Collagen is also a great source of protein to support recovery after exercise, muscle growth, weight loss and gut health. This makes collagen the best protein powder for men and women over 40.

Most collagen powder comes from overseas and some have tested positive for traces of heavy metal contamination. While some brands use Australian bovine sources, they ship raw ingredients to the US to be hydrolysed then ship it all the way back to Australia. Our collagen is 100% Australian grown, hydrolysed and made. Home grown quality you can trust.

What is Collagen Protein Powder?

Collagen Powder Supports Skin Health

As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, causing wrinkles, saggy skin, and other signs of aging. By supplementing with collagen powder, it can help restore the body's collagen supply, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and promote a more youthful complexion.

Collagen Supports Joints & Tendons

Collagen is a vital component of cartilage, the tissue that cushions and supports joints. As we age our joint cartilage can deteriorate, leading to pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility. By consuming collagen powder, you are supporting joint health and reducing the risk of conditions like osteoarthritis.

Collagen Supports Muscle Repair and Growth

Collagen contains specific amino acids, such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, which play essential roles in muscle repair and growth. Studies suggest that supplementing with collagen protein powder may promote muscle recovery after exercise and support muscle growth.

Collagen Supplements Support Gut Health

Collagen is rich in the amino acids glycine and glutamine, which are known to support digestive health. Some people use collagen powder to promote gut lining integrity and reduce inflammation in the digestive tract, potentially alleviating symptoms of leaky gut syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Collagen is a type of protein, most often sourced from the skin and ligaments of animals such as fish (marine collagen) and cows (bovine collagen). Collagen protein is composed mainly of the amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. We use grass-fed and grass finished bovine hydrolysed collagen peptides from Australia.

We like it because it's a great environmentally friendly option and easier on the gut than other proteins like whey. And research shows it's beneficial for gut health, joint and tendon health, recovery and hair, skin and nails.

In our flavoured options there is 11g of collagen per 15g serve. In our unflavoured option there is 15g of collagen per 15g serve (100% collagen). Most of the research for collagen supplementation is on 2.5g to 15g of collagen per day. You can take more, but there doesn't seem to be additional benefit according to the studies. You may though like to take more if you're having trouble hitting your daily protein requirements.

Collagen is a protein and absolutely counts towards your daily protein requirements. However, Collagen is missing Tryptophan which is one of the 9 essential amino acids that our body can’t produce and we must obtain them from our diet by eating animal protein (such as our beef bars and biltong) or a combination of vegetable proteins (including nuts like in our collagen bars) or by taking a protein supplement. If you’re not getting enough Tryptophan then you may need a protein supplement other than Collagen.

We’re not allowed to give advice and you should always check with your doctor or health professional. There is nothing in our products that we feel you would need to worry about. In fact, collagen is a fantastic supplement for mums who are growing human beings.
