Our long time collagen bars fans will know we've been working on our bars for years. Making a bar without artificial ingredients AND without resorting to dried fruit (too much sugar) is tough.
The solution we found with our collagen bars was to use nut butter as the base, but no artificial ingredients makes it very tricky to get the balance right so it's not too wet or too dry. Using nut butter also makes the bar a little crumbly, which means it doesn't survive the bottom of your bag (or Australia Post!) too well.
We've made great progress over the years, but coming soon (late September 2021) we're releasing our best version yet! The recipe is very similar, but the process to make the bars is quite a bit different, and we've added bigger chunks of nuts.
The result is a bar that we think tastes better, has better texture and performs better too (i.e. survives the bottom of your bag intact). We now also have a much more scalable solution which is important for us as a business as we grow, and it's also important for you as scale will, over time, help us improve our efficiencies and deliver a better product at a cheaper price.
But, change is always hard, so while we think they're a better bar, we know not everyone will agree! That's just food, everyone has different tastes and preferences.
