Your thoughts are changing your physiology with Lea Llovio

TL;DR: You can’t optimise the body without optimising the mind

  • Your thoughts are part of your health: Lea argues that negative thought patterns create stress in the body and influence how we feel and behave, while shifting them may support better health and decision making.
  • Your biology affects your mind too: Thoughts do not exist in isolation. Gut health and blood sugar can influence mood and thinking, with the sugar, dopamine and crash cycle discussed as one example.
  • You can retrain your internal programming: Lea recommends actively catching unhelpful thoughts, replacing them and repeatedly reinforcing the person you want to be. Her tools include “Stalking Your Thoughts”, “cancel, cancel, update and upgrade” and the “Three Threes” morning practice.
  • Optimisation shouldn’t become obsession Better health is not about perfect routines. Lea advocates radical self-acceptance, compassionate boundaries and building resilience without becoming overly rigid.

Lea Llovio is a Conscious Wellness™ thought leader, global keynote speaker, and Mind Body Spirit Health Optimisation advisor to influential leaders in medicine, wellness, personal development, and entertainment. Known as the “Doc Whisperer,” she blends scientific and spiritual medicine to help high achievers remove mental, emotional, and energetic barriers that affect their health and performance.

We cover:

  • The intersection of spiritual and scientific medicine
  • How spirituality fits in the biohacking world
  • The theory behind thought optimisation and how our thoughts affect our physiology and health
  • Practical mind optimisation tools such as The "Three Threes", Stalking Your Thoughts, Programming and Radical Self- Acceptance

This episode offers a fascinating perspective on how greater awareness of our thoughts, beliefs, mindset and internal patterns may help us improve our health, accelerate healing, and live with greater purpose.

Your thoughts are affected by what is going on in your gut microbiome, even with your blood sugar. Severely depressed people, they eat a lot of sugar because they're constantly searching for that dopamine hit. But guess what happens? They get the dopamine hit and they have a hard crash and it's a cycle.

00:20
I'm Veronica Larisova and today I'm joined by Leah Lavier, a conscious wellness thought leader who blends scientific and spiritual medicine. This episode offers a fascinating perspective on how greater awareness of our thoughts may help us improve our health, accelerate healing, and live with greater purpose.

00:44
You are listening to the Chief Life podcast. Leah Lovio, the doctor whisperer. Welcome to the Chief Life podcast. Thank you so much, Veronica. I'm so grateful to be here with you. And you know, we we met a couple months ago, I think, and we had an instant connection. And you know, that is the beauty of sharing our sacred

01:07
medicine and being in wellness and optimization is that we meet extraordinary human beings that are doing sacred work in the world and and bringing extraordinary products to the world with good intentions to help people heal. And that's really what what life is about, right? Doing the good works, the blessing work. 100%. And that's why I invited you here and I'm super excited to have the chat with you because um I've been following you since we met

01:34
at the biohackers world in LA and I really love what you talk about because we are in the world of biohacking that's all measured and optimized and it's very masculine energy and your approach is very different. So before we get started, I wanted to ask you about your professional background and why are you being called the doctor whisperer.

01:56
Oh yes. Well, so I started as a very at a very young age in spirituality mostly on the mental, emotional and spiritual side of healing and optimization. From the time I was very young, I was very intuitive. I was very in tune with the spirit world, with energy, very empathetic. And when you have this kind

02:20
of calling, you have to start to learn how to manage it. Because we have many spiritual teachers and leaders that sometimes to their detriment, they only focus on the spiritual side of healing or the energetic side of healing or they only focus on the thought processes, which is what I focus on mostly. But sometimes they neglect the physical. And so when I was 16 years old, I was

02:44
working on television sets, hosting television shows. I'm from Los Angeles. And what I realized is that I was always everyone's therapist, everyone's spiritual guide, everyone's spiritual advisor. And at one point, I had a client who I thought was just a friend and a person that I was helping say to me, "Listen, you are spending a lot of time working with me on the things that

03:07
I'm struggling with. I think I should be paying you for this. I think you should be doing this as a service for people." And that's how it sort of started for me because I always believe in going where you are called and the calling was that specifically that was the sacred medicine that I had to offer to the world. And what happened over a few decades of working with people is that

03:30
we realized a couple of things. One is you can do all of the spiritual work in the world, all of the meditation in the world, but if you don't optimize the physical vessel, the physical body that you were given to navigate this sacred world in, what happens sometimes is that your brain chemistry can interfere with your peace and with your calling in

03:52
life, your uh metabolism, your blood sugar, you know, your optimization of your heart rate, all of these things. If they're not balanced, they interfere with what you're trying to do spiritually, emotionally in this world, the sacred medicine that you're trying to offer. But just the same, I had extraordinary clients that were doing amazing works in the world, and they

04:17
could go to the best doctors. They could go and have every service you can think of, all of the biohacks, all of the optimizations, and sometimes they wouldn't work for them. And that was if they were not doing themselves the mental, emotional and spiritual work. And so this is why I created conscious wellness which I call the dance between spiritual medicine and scientific medicine. And the goal of that is that

04:42
we can live the blessing way so that we can do the blessing work because every human being comes to this world to offer something to the world to give something back to the world. We're not just here to see what we can take from it, but we're here to really share our sacred medicine. And everyone's got a little bit of sacred medicine to share with the world. And this is why it's so important to optimize mentally, emotionally,

05:05
spiritually, and physically. And this is how we have the sacred dance of spiritual medicine and scientific medicine. I love that. And I was about to ask, how does it fit in the biohacking world? Because when I say to someone who is not in the biohacking world, who who do you envision as a biohacker? They'll say it's a usually men, masculine, masculine energy, intense, everything is measured, everything is very physical. And you

05:31
could even see at the conference everything was full of different gadgets and supplements and things like that. So how does the spirituality fit in the biohacking world? One, we have to look at ancient healing strategies, right? Who were the ancient healers of our time? In ancient times,

05:52
we had shamans. We had the medicine man or medicine woman in the village. We had people that we believed were miracle workers. And the village people thought, if I could see that person, I know that I'm going to have a miracle healing. And so, all healing in ancient times was considered a miracle. But what were those miracles? Well, the plant medicine

06:14
man or woman would say, "Hey, you know what? You have toxins in your body. I want you to go sit in front of a fire and wrap yourself in wool and I want you to sweat it out for three nights." And so that was a sweat lodge per se, but what is that today? These are our saunas of today, right? And so there's really nothing quite new under the sun. But

06:39
what we do have today is that we have the studies. We have the uh books and books that you can learn. We've got the placebo versus nibo tests that we've done where we can see if people are having the effects of the healing. We understand cellular medicine. We understand the cells in the body. We understand every single mechanism as to

07:02
why things work and why things don't work in the physical body. And so number one, I ask people to understand that all technology, all supplementation, all therapies, all IVs, plasma exchange, whatever it is that you're doing, red light therapy, sauna, oxygen therapy, it is actually the same sacred ancient medicine. And how is that so? Because

07:28
any human being, any person on this realm right now that chooses to create something to create a, you know, um, beef jerky like you do, to create a protein shake, to create a red light therapy. Why did they do this? They did this because they had a sacred intention. They wanted to share their sacred medicine. They did it because

07:52
they said, you know what? I want to help people heal. I want to help people live better lives. And this is the sacredness of even all of the biohacking that we do today. It's not just everything we see on the physical realm. We have to tune in to the intention behind why did these people create these devices? Why is this gigantic conference filled with people that are desperate to improve their

08:19
lives? They're not just trying to optimize themselves physically. Every time you do something that is better for you, it's because you have an immense thirst for life. Yeah. Because life is sacred. Life is the blessing and the opportunity to give your sacred medicine. And so this is the same thing like with the doctors that I work with. I tell them, you know, the patients don't come just for the

08:44
protocol or just for the strategy. No one came to the conference just to buy one more device. They came to save their own life. They came to save other people's lives. They came so that they may be well enough to live this life to the fullest. And so all medicine, all strategies, all biohacks, all technology, they really are sacred medicine. But we just have to remember

09:08
where it all started. And this is how we actually get the most effectiveness out of all treatments. Because many people have an aversion, for example, to certain types of therapies. And when we have an aversion to the therapies, sometimes it's to your own detriment because maybe you did need a certain type of therapy at a certain time. We were just talking about nothing extreme or at least not for too long, right? But

09:34
when we can look at the sacredness of where every technology, every treatment, every strategy started, then we can tune into that and use it when we need it so that we can optimize our sacred vessel and do our good works in the world. Yeah, I really love your explanation and your whole like the approach to biohacking, but I'm still a little bit torn about it. I I understand and I

09:58
agree that a lot of these devices can help people to heal, but I just think we don't spend enough time to help people to not get sick first place. I feel that a lot of people live very intense lives. They are sedentary. They're indoors. They don't eat right. They never see the sun. And then they think they can save themselves with red light beds and supplements and all the beautiful

10:23
gadgets that I believe do work. and they have lots of science behind them, but I think someone needs to also start teaching people to not get sick first place. Do you agree? I agree with you 100%. One of my theories is that your need to detoxify is to the extent that you take the

10:43
toxins in. Right? So, I invite people to stop taking the toxins in or stop doing the lifestyle that is making you sick. But how do we get people to do that? Because in this day and age, people are very, very busy. Everyone's got, you know, very intense lives. Whether if you live in a city, you have bills to pay.

11:05
If you are a parent, you have kids to raise. If you work anywhere, well, you need to make sure that you're doing a good job. You've got to commute sometimes, right? So, it really depends on your life circumstances. But how do we get people to make better choices? And this is where the thought processes come in because nothing that we do started out of nowhere.

11:27
Anything that we do started with number one programming, right? We all start off with some programming. We are born into a family that starts programming us from the time we are take our first breath. You're programmed when you're in the hospital. you know, when you're going to get fed, when your diaper's going to get changed. You start walking and you're

11:49
programmed to, you know, not touch certain things. Make sure that you walk the right way. Make sure that you behave the right way. Make sure when you're a child, don't hit the other children, you know. So, there's constant programming. And then as we grow up, we have to decide, wait a minute, was that programming good for me? If your

12:11
programming was that your family was very busy and they did microwave dinners every night, you have to change that programming. If your um programming was that there wasn't enough money to buy the good food, but you were buying maybe the designer shoes instead, that programming has to change, right?

12:32
And so, who gets to program us now that we're adults? It's us. And the only way we can change the programming is by starting to change the thoughts that we have number one about what is good for us, what is bad for us. Number two, how valuable is our life? How valuable is

12:53
this sacred vessel? And once we start to change the thoughts about how we see our existence on this planet that not one day is guaranteed and not even the next five minutes are guaranteed, Then we start to get more ambitious. We start to get ambitious about, wait a minute, maybe I should take care of my body.

13:14
Maybe I should prioritize what I'm putting in my mouth. Maybe I should prioritize moving this sacred vessel that I get to navigate this amazing and extraordinary life in. But until we start optimizing the thought processes about what we think about even existing in life, it does get really hard for people to make those right choices. the devices and the upgrades should come

13:39
after the basics, you know, but many people do find that they want those shortcuts because they haven't optimized the thoughts. Yeah. But once they optimize the thoughts, they will understand that wait a minute, if I do the basics, I may not need as many um devices. I may not need as many interventions. I may not need to detoxify as much because now I'm not

14:01
taking in as many toxins as I was. And and the other important thing is that the toxins are not just what you put in your mouth, right? We know that it's what you put on your skin. It's the the air that you breathe. But the toxins are also what do you allow yourself to contemplate? Yes. What do you look at every day? Do you do you look at the news every day? Do you look at what's wrong with the world every day? Do you look at what's wrong

14:27
with other people? Even in our interactions, every time we meet someone, are we looking to see what's wrong with them or are we looking to see what's amazing about them when we look at ourselves again? Are we looking in the mirror just thinking what everything that's wrong with us? Women, you know, have this problem very frequently of everything that's wrong versus look at

14:49
this miracle. Oh my gosh, I can see myself in the mirror. I can have another day. And this again is how we continue to optimize the thought processes and not take in the toxins. Same thing with what are we allowing ourselves to hear? Are we listening to positive things? Are we engaging in negativity with other people and listening to negativity? All of these things are extraordinarily

15:12
important. The toxins come in through what you look at, what you listen to, what you put in your mouth, the external uh toxins. And then of course there are internal toxins, right? which is what's happening in your mind every day. And those all can either the toxins can definitely interfere with everything you want in your life, including your physical health, your relationships, your livelihood, the dreams that you

15:37
have for yourself. Or what you're thinking can enhance everything and make it so much easier for you to get everywhere you want to get mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Yeah. And that's why I love your work because a lot of people don't actually realize that the toxic thinking is one

15:59
of the worst toxins because there is a scientific proof that you can heal yourself by your thoughts and you can also make yourself sick by your thoughts and people think it's a magic but it's not because obviously the negative thoughts create a lots of hormonal changes in your body create a lot of cortisol you get inflamed you change your gene expression via the inflammation. So it is super important

16:21
that you talk about changing the mindset and the thoughts and the things we listen to and one thing I wanted to ask you about how much because there just to explain there is a connection between our gut and our brain. How much do you think our gut controls our mind?

16:42
you know, everything is connected and in fact there's a conference that specifically focuses on that and many of the doctors I work with speak at that conference. It's called Imm. And um there's definitely a connection, but here's here's the thing. You there's always an argument, okay? Is it the gut that's affecting the thoughts or is it the heart

17:08
that's affecting the thoughts in the body? There's also that argument with with people that are very much into mindfulness and meditation, right? They say focus on your heart, focus on your heart. And that is beautiful. But what I have found is that again, your thoughts are the ones that are going to dictate how you're going to feel.

17:31
How you feel is going to dictate what you say and what you do. Yeah. And so this is why you were saying how some people think these things are a little bit woo or magical or mystical. They're not. They're very practical, logical, and rational. However, your thoughts are affected by what is going on in your

17:54
gut microbiome, by what is going on with even with your blood sugar. For example, severely depressed people eat many, it's very common that they eat a lot of sugar because they're constantly searching for that dopamine hit. But guess what happens? They get the dopamine hit and they have a hard crash and it's a cycle and they get actually more and more depressed. So, it's all all connected.

18:20
And this is why we have to optimize our physical body, not just our mental, emotional, and spiritual. But again, I do know people that do all the physical optimization. Yes. But they say a lot of negative things or and they have certain things that they say, well, I've optimized this, this,

18:41
and this, but I was born with that and they don't believe that that one thing can be optimized. And it's the and so they don't even try anymore. They just say, "Okay, I can get all of these things in order, but I can't get that thing in order." And so, this is why the thoughts are so important because it's not that everything can be 100% perfect, but

19:05
maybe it can. But if we think that it's impossible, we won't even try. where if you continually optimize your thoughts, upgrade and update every thought you have about everything, whether or not, you know, a lot of people use the excuse in their life of, well, this is how I was raised. My whole family is like that or I'm from this country and that's just how we are. We we're short-tempered over there.

19:30
Do you see what I mean? So every time you have an excuse as to something from the past or something that was handed down to you, you limit yourself and you interfere with your own healing. But it's it's all connected. It's not just the thoughts. It's not just the gut. It's not just the heart. It's not just the circumstances. It's that we do

19:51
have to optimize everything. And again, there is a very good place for ambition. The best place for ambition is optimization. be very ambitious about optimizing your physical body, how well you feel, your thoughts. How many happy thoughts do you have a day? And some of us have to, you know, really brainwash

20:12
ourselves with these thoughts. It's not that we don't have compassion over people that have suffered tremendously or people that grew up on really bad food. Yes, they have more work to do than someone who might have grown up on a farm and with healthy food and a fun, happy, you know, family and playing outside. Yes, some people have more work to do. But guess what? If we just roll up our sleeves and say, "I'm going to do this work. Why not? I've got this life

20:38
to live." We can live extraordinary lives mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and have extraordinary relationships in life. Yeah, that's great. And so do you have any practical tips on how to optimize our thoughts? Absolutely. Can you share some with us? Yes. Yes. So one is every human being should become a stalker like a wild

21:01
animal that stalks its prey. But we have to become the stalkers of our own thoughts. Our thoughts have to be our prey because guess what? Those thoughts, if we stalk our thoughts, they will nourish us. But if we don't know how to stalk them, those same thoughts might kill us. Just like, you know, if you're not a good stalker in the wild, you're going to get eaten. Yeah.

21:24
But you want to be the one who eats. But the only thing you can really stalk are your own thoughts. So that you look at your thoughts every day. And there's very practical ways to look at this. If I had a thought and I feel bad, that is a thought to optimize. If I have a thought and I feel good, that is a thought to enhance. But number one, people have to look at their life. They have to look at how well they feel

21:49
physically. Do I feel really good every day? Do I have energy most of the time? If you do, you may be doing really good things and your thoughts are probably optimized. Do you have good relationships? Do you have people in your life that you really love and that you contribute to? And I want you to

22:10
notice that I said that you really love and that you really contribute to not that are rooting for you that are doing for you. This is the confusion that happens, right? Some of the thoughts to optimize are how can I serve people? What can I do to make someone else's life better? Why do we do this?

22:33
Because number one, if you're giving, if you're thinking about how to serve people, this means that you must have something to give. You are tricking yourself into telling yourself that you are very well, that you are very fulfilled and that you do have everything that you need. Otherwise, you wouldn't be thinking about how you can serve. But you don't wait to think that

22:56
you have something to think how can I help someone else. The other thing that happens there, and this is my most favorite thing, is that when we start to optimize our thoughts every day, thinking about at least one thing that we can do to make someone's life better, the cells in our body are alive. They're they are our team. We are the coach of our team, which are our cells in our

23:21
body. If the coach of the team is thinking, okay, we need to get this from that person and we need to get this from that person. The team thinks, oh gosh, we don't have what we need, so we can't do our work. And the cells in the body start to restrict and they can't relax. They can't do the work they need to do. But when the human being wakes up in the morning and says, you know what, I have these intentions for myself. I have things that I want for myself in this

23:49
life, but today I want to do something for somebody. And it doesn't have to be a big thing. I want to make somebody smile. I want to send a nice text. Maybe I'm going to send somebody flowers. Maybe I'm going to hold the door open for somebody. In that morning when you thought those thoughts, yourselves said, "Oo, our human is good today. Our human

24:10
is relaxed, is happy. We must be really well because our human is even thinking about helping other people." So we can focus on doing our healing work. We can focus on helping our human live full of vitality and energy because we're not restricted. We're not like in search of what we can get. We are full.

24:30
That is so true. And I always think that every time I come across someone who is road raging or who is being mean or who is just not being very nice person are wasting oh he must have a bad day or there's something bad happening in your life because you're right when you are well and you feel good in a day you want to do good things for people because it

24:54
feels good as well and you have a good mood you want to share it and you don't want to spoil your own mood by being mean. So that's completely right. I love that. Um I love that attitude. And um do you have any other tips that you can share with us? So you were saying be stalker of your thoughts. Do something nice for someone every day. Anything else?

25:15
Well, I think we go back to the programming, right? So we are our own computer system, right? We program our computers to do what they want. We use AI now and we program it with prompts. We need to prompt ourselves and we need to program ourselves. The first thing you need to do is do it in the morning, right? Because that's the only time most people have to have a little bit of time for

25:38
themselves. And I ask people, you know, if you have time to meditate for 25 minutes, two hours, have a full morning practice, brilliant. You are one of the blessed few that has that time. But most people don't. Most people are working. They need to get to work. they need to get their kids to school, a million things. Maybe they're caring for one of their elderly parents. And so I ask

26:03
people to just have a simple morning practice. It only takes three to five minutes. I call it my three threes. And one is you wake up in the morning and you take three breaths. The breath is sacred, right? We woke up, we have we have plenty to be grateful for. And I ask people to think of three things that they're grateful for. just three things, not 25, you know, not an entire five pages of morning pages. If you can, again, fantastic. But this is minimal.

26:32
This is like just to get yourself anchored and set up for the day. You think of three things you're grateful for. And you think of three intentions that you have for yourself. And this is where, yes, you're here to have everything you want. So, if no one was judging you, what would you want for yourself? have three big bold things, your biggest dreams that you have for yourself every morning. Then the most

26:55
important one is three ways in which you can serve humanity. Three things that you can give back to the world. And this goes back to generosity, to the cells in the body, relaxing and understanding that we're coming in full, that we have everything we need. Every time we think about if we can do something good for humanity, ourselves relax. They dance.

27:18
They're like, "Hey guys, we can have fun. We can heal. We can do our works." And then if you are there really with a purpose in your life, you want to think about who you want to be to yourself. Every day at the end of the day when you go and you look in the mirror, you say, "Okay, I I'm okay with who I was today." So, who do you want to be to yourself?

27:40
Do you want to be a person that does take care of your physical body? Do you want to be a person that is kind to yourself? And do you want to be able to look in the mirror at the end of the day and said, you know what, I treated myself kindly. I treated my sacred vessel like the sacred vessel that it is. So one, who do you want to be to yourself? And I ask people, choose one word or one phrase.

28:04
Then you ask yourself, who do I want to be to the people close to me? There are people in your life, family, friends, your close community, they need something from you. They need your love. They need your support. They need you to root for them. They need your kindness. Who do you want to be to the people close to you that depend on you for the emotional support that it takes to get through this very, very intense life?

28:30
And then if you are in service to others and you have a service that you provide, who do you want to be to the people you serve? Who do you want to be your employees or employers or the people that use your products or the people that come to you for some healing or for some medicine? And the reason why we ask these questions, it again signals the cells in the body. If you are able to say, wait a minute, I am powerful enough

28:54
and in control enough of myself that I can choose who I want to be in these three areas of my life. I must have a lot. I must have equinimity. I must have balance. And again, the cells are like, my human is in control. My human is not only thinking about what she wants for herself. She's thinking about how she

29:18
can serve others. And she's really strategically thinking about how she can be a better human being to herself, to those that are close to her, and to the people that she serves. This is very important. This all signals the body that it's got what it needs to heal, to optimize, and to elevate. Versus if you start the day in fear or in oh my gosh,

29:42
I need this or I need that. You start in restriction mode. And the way this helps with the optimization of the thoughts is that now you go into your day. What happens in your day? Anything can happen. Everyone can open the door for you. The traffic can go smoothly. Everyone can let you go first. Everyone can be absolutely lovely to you. And somebody might have a bad day and somebody might cut you off on the road.

30:09
Somebody might be rude on the phone. And so then what happens? This is how you optimize your thoughts and your reactions is because now you have that morning practice that you anchor back to. You choose a word for every area, a word or a phrase, and you anchor back to that word or phrase. Let's just say that you said you want to be compassionate or you want to be patient towards others.

30:31
You know, I like people to have little post-it notes. You know, put it on your dashboard, put it on your mirror. If you work in an office, put it on your computer. These are little things that continue to signal us and remind us, I chose to optimize my thought processes in this life. I chose how I want to think and things happen in life, but I can anchor back to that when there's bumps in the road, when things get a

30:56
little sloppy. I can remind myself and literally I tell people if a negative thought comes up or a negative reaction, you say cancel, cancel, update and upgrade, and then anchor back to what you said, that promise that you made to yourself in the morning, and do the best you can to anchor back to what you said you want to be, what your intentions are. And it doesn't have to be perfect, but we just try. But here's the most important part.

31:21
We cannot be cruel to ourselves if we falter. Radical self-acceptance has to be in place. What is radical self-acceptance? And notice I don't say radical self-love. I don't say radical self-love because many people have never had love. They have never been radically loved or unconditionally loved. So they don't have a reference point. So we start with

31:48
radical self-acceptance. And what that looks like is that okay, I made all these commitments to myself. I committed that I want to be a person that works out. I want to be a person that goes outside. I want to be a person that doesn't react to other people's rudeness. But you did snap that day and it did happen. But you caught yourself and you went back to your anchor. And so the radical self-acceptance comes in

32:10
with us treating ourselves like our most precious beloved. You know, when you're first falling in love with somebody and there's all the butterflies, they can do no wrong no matter what they do. When you have a precious child that you absolutely adore, if you were the most spoiling parent on the planet, no matter what anyone said, you were not going to blame the child. This is radical self-acceptance. but towards yourself.

32:36
If you have a puppy or a kitten or a little pet that you absolutely adore, this is where people can mostly get soft and very accepting is with their pets. I want you to treat yourself that way. And when you don't do everything perfectly that you said you were going to do, that you talk to yourself and say, "Hey, sweetheart, we're trying our best. Now we've got tools. Now we've got a guide.

33:00
Now we have anchors and we're going to keep trying every day." Once you learn to radically accept yourself and give yourself a lot of grace, not a little bit, a lot of grace, you start to give that to other people. And then this is where the self-love can start to sneak in and before you know it, you fall in love with yourself and you fall in love with everyone else. I love it. It's so simple but very effective. And I love

33:26
that you said you have to do it every day. And that's what people forget when it comes to mental health and thoughts. Everyone knows that if you want to be strong, you need to keep exercising repeatedly. You can't just do squats once and then have strong legs for the rest of your life. And that's the same with mindset, right? You have to keep practicing every day to keep your mind strong. And with food, with everything

33:49
else, consistency is the key. So, how do you work with your clients? How do you make them being consistent when they're not with you? because I can imagine they or maybe I'm wrong but they probably do certain amount of time with you and then they left on their own. How do you equip them for the rest of their lives to keep practicing this?

34:10
I really love that you asked that question because I think anyone who is in service to humanity, the goal should always be that your clients don't need you. And that has always been my goal that they have the tools that they can do the work themselves. So we work differently all of the time, right? I

34:33
don't work the same with one person as I do with another because all people need something differently. That's going back to that morning practice is asking yourself, who do I want to be to the people that I serve? Right? So, one of the things that I definitely don't do is say, "This is how I help you." No.

34:56
Anytime you're helping another human being, your goal, if you are coming from a place of authenticity is how can I help this human being in a way that they can receive the sacred medicine. And so, we look at each individual as to what they need, what their life circumstances are, right? Many of my clients are people that are traveling all over the world constantly. This is why I created

35:22
short fast tools. They're in different time zones and in their particular cases, many of them have a lot of high visibility and they've got half the world that loves them and half the world that hates them. You know how difficult it is in your own personal life. Let's just say you're in a city or in a village. just the

35:44
neighbor saying something bad about you is hurtful, right? So now you have people that are being loved and hated by the masses and today with social media, many people have the same situation. So again, we work on the thought processes and we work on making sure that each person has a deep purpose and mission in life. And that is why we

36:11
have the morning practice. Why? Because I want every person to find their sacred medicine and to anchor back to what they came to this planet to do. Even in the medical world, I work with many practitioners as well. And their calling was to help people heal, right? But we can all get a bit distraught and disappointed in the medical systems and

36:37
the insurance systems and in just you know people having so much illness or not having compliance. So we have to work with why did I start practicing in the first place and this applies to anything whatever you do whether you are a person who you know travels and does concerts and entertains people or you are a politician that is really trying

36:59
to help people in the world change policies whether you are trying to change the way we navigate the world in our vehicles. You're trying to create cleaner emissions in the world because you want to remove all of the smog and the toxicity out of the world. All of those are sacred callings. All of those are sacred medicine. And the work that I do with my clients is helping them to

37:23
stay connected to their sacred medicine and also deal with the rest of the world. How do we deal with the rest of the world? Because sometimes you do have people coming at you. Well, this is where we work on being independent of the good opinion of others and truly understanding that nothing anyone does ever to you has anything to do with you.

37:50
Every single human being comes to the world if they haven't done their work. They just come with their programming. They just come with their own baggage. And so every time they come to see you or they meet you or they say something to you, they said that with their entire history, with all of their suitcases full of what their mother said, their father said, the first person that disappointed them, you know, the first

38:16
person that stole from them, the first person that betrayed them. And so we have to understand that part and understand that nothing anyone does has anything to do with us. and at the same time learning to have some healthy boundaries, right? Because then you just because you understand them, that doesn't mean you're going to allow them to stay in your life. And that goes back to the

38:42
toxins. We start identifying where are the toxins coming from in your life, not just physically. Are they coming from relationships? And if they're coming from poisonous relationships because there are poisonous tongues in the world that only spew poison, do you want to keep that poison around you? And so sometimes we have to work at incorporating very gentle boundaries.

39:12
Now because we want to clear ourselves and protect our protect ourselves from the poison, that doesn't mean that we're cruel in the process. This is very important because then we kind of add poison to the poison. And so many times, especially in our world of health optimization, people say, "Okay, I'm optimizing. I'm not going to drink alcohol. I'm not going to eat bad food." And they cut everyone out of their life.

39:41
And you know, it's not compassionate either to cut people out of your life completely instantaneously. Yeah. We have to find ways to do things in a compassionate way. What does that mean? If you do things in a compassionate way, it means that you have a lot of power. That you are in control of yourself.

40:03
You know, and there is a time where sometimes maybe you're fragile and you just can't handle it and you do have to cut things off quickly. But if you work on yourself enough and you optimize your thoughts enough, you can be gentle in your boundaries. The amateurs are rigid in their boundaries. That's the beginner.

40:25
The advanced pro does learn how to set the boundaries in a gentle way where you don't have to hurt anyone else in the process. Even if they were hurting you at some point, you can come from a compassionate place and kind of dissolve these res relationships in a gentle way.

40:46
There's never really a need to be harsh. Of course, if somebody is physically abusing someone, these kinds of things, yes, you need to do whatever you need to do to get out of there immediately. But most of the things that people deal with are more psychological stuff and, you know, silly things that humans do to be unkind to each other.

41:06
Yeah. And so, you know, I don't say to kill anyone with kindness because you you never will kill anyone with kindness. you the way you destroy poison is by finding gentle ways to dissolve it, right? Even if you um you know get bit by a snake, right, they're not going to cut your leg off. Yeah. They're going to suck the poison out. Yeah.

41:27
Yeah. That's such a great reminder because I think in the world of biohacking, we get caught up in the optimizing everything around us and uh eliminating all the environmental toxins. you know, no don't have toxins in your skin care, hair care, your food, household products, but people forget about the toxic thoughts and toxic people which are probably the worst toxins in our life.

41:50
Yes, absolutely. I mean it all matters, right? And and the interesting thing is that sometimes when we get very optimized, for example, for myself, as I optimized myself in my life, I had a time where I was very rigid with my diet and I only wanted to eat certain foods in certain

42:11
places. And I realized one day that I had to eliminate a lot of people if I wanted to be that rigid. Mhm. And I realized that the relationships and the love that I share with the people was more important than just that one Saturday brunch that maybe we ate at a restaurant and

42:34
had some seed oils. But I spent the time with the people. And again, if you really have the power and you really optimized yourself, well, guess what? I knew that I was going to go home and take some bourberine and maybe do some charcoal that night and my body could handle it. But we also can't, you know, use all of our upgrading and updating of our physiology to separate us from people. The goal is to optimize

43:00
ourselves so much that we have resilience and that we, you know, we can make exceptions. That way we can continue to have these beautiful relationships. Plus, if you make sure that you continue certain relationships and you are optimizing yourself, you're now modeling better habits for the people around you. Not that you're going to tell them, hey, you should eat like

43:23
me, but at least they'll see that you're at the restaurant maybe and that you are asking for the dressing on the side. Yeah. And that might influence them to do something a little better for their health at some point in time. Yeah. 100%. And I think everyone goes or most people like us go through the stage of rigidity and also I went through the stage of preaching to people what they should do and no one wants unsolicited advice. And then when I got older I realized that you know you can't be so

43:50
rigid because you lose friendships. You can't preach because people will not listen anyway. All you can do is lead by an example. And I think it's a whole big part of the of the whole journey of growing up. when you know when you try to help people because we both are in a industries that helping people but sometimes I could myself trying to help people in the wrong way like preaching and you know cutting people off. So this

44:14
is really great framework for everything that you say. Um I have a question. What do you think about the whole biohacking event we just attended? What was your most favorite invention or product or thing that you've heard? Every conference the way I I see conferences is I see them from a different perspective.

44:38
We are advancing science and technology tremendously. Every day we understand more and more the mechanisms of the body and we have so many tools now to optimize ourselves. When I go to a conference, what I see is one, of course, there's almost nothing

45:02
that we can't prevent. Almost there's almost nothing that we can't reverse or cure depending on how proactive we are. That's beautiful. But the most important part is that I have traveled all over the world. Every year I go on a sacred pilgrimage.

45:24
Wow. I've gone to many power spots throughout the world. They're called power spots. I've gone to places of pilgrimage where people go and they say their prayers and they believe miracles will happen if they go to these places. And those places are called power spots. They're called sacred centers all over the world. The pyramids are one of the more famous ones. I need to get a list from you.

45:50
Absolutely. Yes. 100%. And what I want to invite people to see is that when you go to a conference, especially for biohacking, for wellness, wherever people go to optimize people's lives. Everyone who went there, yes, they want to make sales, but ultimately

46:15
they want to improve people's lives. You have all of these people. How many people were there? Like 4,000 people. Yes. So many. Everywhere that you go and you gather for the good of humanity becomes a power spot, becomes a sacred center. And this is what matters the most. Even the energy of being there can optimize you if you tune into it.

46:44
Yeah. And the way I see devices just because we're talking about one of the devices that I liked is a new um vag nerve stimulator because I the vagus nerve is important. It's one that goes around your ear. Um I like that because it was small and practical and easy. But the way I look at devices is to use them not as the only thing but not ever use them blindly like okay I'm

47:09
going to just do this you know for my mitochondria now. I'm going to do this for my circadian rhythm. No, I ask people every time you're going to use a device, I want you to program the device and I want you to use the device to remind you in that moment of your sacred intentions, of your sacred medicine. For example, with some of the

47:32
workers, uh, some of the doctors that I work with, we have done tests with the rings that test you that that track you. Yeah. Um, I'm wearing one of them. here where I went. And what we've done is we've asked patients at night to program themselves as to what they want to see and even to talk to the tracker.

47:56
Okay. and say in the morning I'm I am going to see that I had increased REM sleep that my HRV is better my oxygen levels were better my deep sleep is better and after about 3 weeks we see a 20 to 30% improvement

48:17
in people that program themselves and the devices to see what they want to see versus the ones that just go to Okay, that's my goal for the month of June. I'm going to try that and tell you if it works. Yes, you're you program yourself. You program the device and you program yourself. I'm going to whatever it is that you want to experience during your

48:38
sleep. I'm going to have two hours of REM tonight. I'm going to have two hours of deep tonight. My HIV is going to be whatever your goal is. So, you have to be very specific. You have to you don't say I want my HIV to be higher. You need to say I want my HIV to be certain number. You can say a certain number or higher. Yeah. And do you do you like I'm getting really deep into number. I just want to know exactly with all of that you said even the three threes and this

49:03
programming now. Do you say it in your head? Do you say it out loud? Do you write it down or everything? Whichever. If you can do just one, just one. If you can do all of them, all of them. Okay. And the same thing with the devices, right? If you're going to get into a hyperaric oxygen, why would you just get in there and sit there and not program yourself?

49:23
Yeah. What what do you want to get from it? Program yourself and love the object itself. Love it. Touch it. Yeah. So, intention, gratitude, and love to get a better bio hacking results. Yes. When you're making your food, this is the easiest one because you know, not everyone has a hyperbaric oxygen tank in their house.

49:45
But you're making your food. Talk to your food. Thank your food. Have fun with your food. Yeah. I'm saying like if it were your puppy. Oh my gosh, look at you. How beautiful. You're full of protein. You're going to feed my muscles and my collagen and you're going to give me all of the amino acids. Thank you. That's beautiful. And

50:06
you know, it all makes sense. And I went through um series of therapy about 15 16 years ago and the therapist back then was telling me a lot of these things and I was doing them and then I forgot. And now I you just reminded me of these things and they just make so much sense but people forget. People forget and I I don't know how to go about it to make people not forget. What do you think?

50:29
Write it down or what is the solution? If we want to look at very practical ways. I mean post-it notes are super practical, right? Um writing it down is excellent, right? Because now you're using a lot of your senses. You're not just thinking or saying. But really, you know, it's it's

50:49
deciding what works for you. Everyone is different. Like some people might just have like a color that they place in certain places and that triggers them and reminds them. Or some people may have an essential oil spray that they they spray every day. Maybe they have a certain type of um non-toxic candle in their kitchen or next to their stove that reminds them, we're blessing the food today. We're talking to the food

51:13
today. It's the same thing even with your home. Your home or your office is the most sacred place. This is the place. It's first your physical body, right? This one carries you through the whole life, right? So, loving on your body and giving gratitude to your feet. Waking up in the morning and putting your feet on the ground and saying, "Oh my god, thank you feet. You guys are so awesome. Not everyone has them.

51:40
You're carrying me through this life. Oh my gosh, these shins, these knees, you know, thank you for carrying me through this life. These bones, your bones carry sacred energy, very sacred energy. In many cultures, they save the bones or the relics of people they believed were saints. Why? Because the bones carry the energy.

52:03
And so, we should really love on our bones. Yeah. And give them great gratitude. your house, you know, thank your house. Touch your house, touch your sofa. I'm I'm happy and grateful for this amazing studio. Do you think this studio is full of energy? It's full of sacred conversations. Every conversation that has happened here was for the greater good of humanity.

52:28
This conversation is going to go out into the world. We don't know how far and how many lives it's going to save. It's going to change. it's going to improve. And so when we have this immense reverence for all that exists that supports us, you know, there was a person that that I worked with that used to have car accidents all the time.

52:55
And we started working on just making their car become something alive for them. And he gave his car a beautiful name. And he started to talk to his car and everything changed. He never had accidents again because he started to say to his car, you know, I think he

53:15
called her Sarah. I think he called his car Sarah. That was something that was sacred for him. And he would, you know, pet her and say, "Sarah, we're going to have really wonderful time today. You're going to get me everywhere I need to get." So everything matters. I know that this can sound woo and magical, mystical to people, but why not? Exactly. Why not? If it works, you have nothing to lose.

53:39
Exactly. You can try. You could get in your car pissed off every day. Let me know how that goes. Yeah. Exactly. Or you can get in your car and think about Look at the miracle. Somebody had the intention of improving how we get places that that we can get to places faster. That I can go drive someone to the hospital that needs to go there. M

54:01
that I can go drive somewhere and volunteer and do something good for a human. That I can go drive and go to work so I can feed people. So this is when we look at the world and everything we get as something so sacred, everything changes. And why not live this way? Exactly. That's beautiful. I love that.

54:23
I'm going to start practicing right now because I think I tend to sleep with those things. What is your favorite biohacking device? Personally, personally, I do use red light therapy. Um, I can't say I have one favorite one because I have different ones.

54:44
Um, I absolutely love having a tracker very much. So, I got a tracker during 2020 when we had a huge change in our world. And the reason why I did that was because I said, "Okay, I know I'm going to be home more and I want to make sure that I am getting up, that I am moving my body." Again, think about it. How sacred is a tracker? Yes.

55:10
That it gives us the ability that if we so choose to move our body more and to optimize ourselves. Now, we have a sacred device that helps us do that. Is that not sacred? Is that not spiritual? That's as sacred and spiritual as you can get when you're helping people achieve better health. So, I absolutely love the trackers. I love red light

55:31
therapy. Um, it's hard to choose one. I do use um an Apollo Neuro, which I think is I like that very much because it can go on your wrist. What is it? It has different vibrations and it's really cool. the doctor that is the founder of the company. He is a

55:52
psychiatrist and he's an expert in neuroscience, in nervous system, in plant medicine and psychedelics. And he created so people can have vibrations that can help them, for example, fall asleep or stay asleep. Um, feel more social during the day, have focus time. Now, the way I use the device is a little bit different. I

56:15
absolutely feel the vibrations and I find them very helpful. But I ask people to use them a little bit differently. I like when you have anything like that that kind of pings you or reminds you of anything, whether you've got, you know, your your Aura ring app that's reminding you it's time to get up. Mhm.

56:36
I ask people, use all of those little signals to remind you of your purpose to anchor you back what you thought about in the morning and the things that you want. So, we optimize how we use all the devices so that you use you were talking about what's the best way to people for people to remind themselves. So, this is a little bit more of an upgrade, right? You got to spend a little bit more to do this.

57:00
And that's why I'm, you know, tell people if you want to use essential oils or postits that's great. Look, if you can get a device, this is excellent because now you literally will feel something and have something signal you and you can use that as your reminder. Okay, this is gratitude time or this is the time that I remember how sacred my life is or this is the time that I remember my purpose and my sacred medicine in the world. And

57:25
so we use those little, you know, anchors and vibrations and reminders. There's so many ways to use them. But that's again programming, right? Don't let the device program you. You're the captain. Yeah. Of the ship. You're the captain of your life. You're the captain of your devices. You choose like, wait a minute, why am I just going to have it as a red

57:46
light therapy? If I use red light therapy in the morning for my meditation, you know, let me let me optimize it and use it not only to get my circadian rhythm or get red light therapy. let me use it to remind me of what's really sacred in my life and who I am and what I want to be and what I want to do. And so I would say the the tracking devices and the devices that sort of give you a little ping and remind you of

58:12
things. I love those the best because I think they serve many purposes. Yeah. And ultimately, I want people to be obsessed with their thought processes, with optimizing the thoughts, because you can optimize everything, but if you don't optimize your thoughts, well, you're still thinking thoughts that are not serving you.

58:34
You can actually make things not work for you. You can have the best devices and I I know people that have all of them and if they don't optimize their thoughts and they don't optimize everything they think they say and they do sometimes everything doesn't quite work out the way they had hoped.

58:54
And so this is the devices that that I like. Yeah, that's a really cool way to uh of thinking about it and I I really love all your practical tools. I didn't really know what to expect from you. never really spoke about your work in depth and I'm like is it going to be just like very abstract or is it going to be practical and I really love all the practical advice and I'm going to implement it all tomorrow morning straight away. I wanted to ask you I saw

59:20
on your Instagram that you are going to Australia. Is that right? Um I will be going I think we're going sometime maybe in July. I'm not sure. In July. And why are you going? Is it something to do in one of the sacred places or we we're looking at that. So, usually what I do is in the summer at some point and in the winter at some point usually we take advantage that I will

59:47
see a client and then I will escape and do my own you know sacred pilgrimage. This last December I was with and this is beautiful because it shows how ancient biohacking wellness is. I was in Colombia with the Kogi people and they are indigenous people of Colombia and many of them still live the

01:00:09
way they lived ages and ages ago and the way they live their life is in reverence to the earth. Yeah. And what they believe is that we must respect the earth first. But they live their life very grounded. And what they tell people to do, and by the way, the the leader of the tribe, the they're

01:00:33
called the mamos. That's like the spiritual leader of the tribe. His son, I spent a lot of time with his son, and his son's job was to think. That was his only job. Wow. And they even have these little devices that have tobacco in them and something called mambbe and sacred and cocoa leaves that are sacred to them.

01:00:57
And the men they just carve this little device all day long. And this little device is their thoughts because to them their thoughts are the most important thing. And they always have to remember to have good thoughts. And because the mamo, the leader of the tribe, the spiritual guide, he can see what they're thinking based on what they're carving.

01:01:24
Yeah. And so their job is to have positive thoughts all of the time. Wow. Yes. But Australia, we're we're looking at it. I'm not 100% sure yet, but it's did definitely been on my list for many many years to I I was there one time long time ago in Sydney with a client actually for a premiere, but um it I definitely want to go back.

01:01:46
So maybe I will be asking you where this you know sacred spy as well. You are going back in July. I'm going back the first week of July. So I'll be there. One last question. What is your favorite book? Ah, okay. Let me tell you my first books that changed and influenced my life.

01:02:09
And I I don't have a favorite because I go by what what I learned the most from. So the very first book that impacted me as a teenager was um called The Road Less Traveled by Scott Pek. And that book was about delayed gratification.

01:02:32
How we as humans need to learn to delay gratification. That book focuses more on like achieving your goals and and doing the things and having discipline. But think about it. If we can delay gratification, we can also heal our bodies, right? If we can, you know, not go and have the entire tub of ice cream, we'll definitely improve our lives. And then there were a couple of other books.

01:02:58
The four agreements by Don Miguel. I love that book. And I was very blessed to have him as one of my personal teachers throughout my teenage years. Him and I spent a lot of time with him and his family. I'm still very good friends with the family. Incredible. That really helped me. Um, but I learned about his book from another spiritual teacher that I was working with at a very young age. I started very young.

01:03:25
And then there's another one called What You Think of Me is None of My Business. Oh wow. And it's by Terry Cole Whitaker and she still lives in Mount Shasta, California. I would say those two books really changed my life a lot. The four agreements for the obvious reasons. Don't take anything personal.

01:03:48
Um keep be impeccable with your word. I forget what the other ones are. Yeah, I forget them as well, but I have the book at home. But very, very, very practical tools. And then uh Terry Cole Whitaker's book, What You Think of Me is None of My Business, was lifechanging because like I was saying earlier, nothing anyone does is because of you. And if we become independent of the good opinion of others,

01:04:16
that doesn't mean that we're going to go through life doing things that are not kind, but you know, then we're not as affected by everything that everyone says and does. And that's an important goal. And the other one is the only diet there is Sandra Ray and she's still living. She spends a lot of time in India and her book is um it was about diet but they

01:04:42
did a lot of um tests and projects and she would gather with a lot of people. She believed in a lot of breath work. Mhm. Something called rebirththing which was very popular a long time ago. And she would do she would gather with these groups and one week they would eat

01:05:03
everything bad but they would program what they were eating. Now I would not recommend that now, right? Because again here's the thing. Just because we can manage a lot with our thoughts, we have to understand that these um like there's sages and saints, they're still they still exist in India and they're still doing miracles and they can, you know, make things appear in front of you

01:05:30
and disappear in front of you and they can, you know, leave their body temporarily and come back. It's called samadei. Now, I'm getting more into the spiritual stuff and the woo stuff, but this stuff does exist and it's still happening today. But here's the difference. They are not living in the city. They are living in their caves. They are not primarily living amongst the hustle and bustle of the world. And so when

01:05:54
Sandre Ray was doing this work again, she spends a lot of time in India. She does a lot of retreat. She lives a different type of life that's not really involved in driving through the city. Yeah. And so that book really changed my life in the sense of knowing that what I think about the food I'm eating is just as important as the food I'm eating.

01:06:20
Why do you see some people that they don't take any toxic food in but somehow they're always sick. It's because of their thinking. Yeah. Or people that you know and I do know that people have you know digestive issues and things like this. Yes, it does happen. But it sometimes it's more the stress of thinking that this food is so bad. We were talking about going to the restaurants with the people that you love.

I have been to dinners with some of my beloved friends where they're like, "Oh, I know I'm going to pay for this versus look, it's not the perfect diet now. I have tools to deal with it, but it's very important what you think about the food." So that book is really interesting for anyone that really wants to change how they think about

01:07:07
diet and weight and these things and again really about falling in love with the food. It was about that as well. Like really when you fill that food with love the vibration of the food is completely different. You could have a completely organic, healthy, 100% non-GMO meal

01:07:33
not sit well with you if you were in a negative environment or the people that were making it were not having positive thoughts about it. Obviously, 100% I choose organic food and try to be as healthy as possible. I'm not saying don't, but I do like people to realize the importance of what they think about because again, we do

01:07:55
know that there are people that take care of themselves, but maybe the thoughts about the things and the food and the they they don't even believe that it's really going to work for them and it really, you know, all of that creates stress in the body that this is now practically it's stress in the body. That's it. Raising too much cortisol, too much adrenaline. If you're in a stressed, any negative thought is going to cause stress in your body.

01:08:19
It's never going to create dopamine and oxytocin in a positive way or serotonin. It doesn't happen. So, this is very practical. Yeah. Why would we not optimize the thoughts to be positive? But those three books I I think the first one is more disciplined, but the other three are really will change how you see the world and how you see other people and how people are just really doing their life. And it's really not about you. I love it.
