When we heard Aussie Beef Golf was filming a new series we had to get involved, because... beef.
SOUTH is a golf road trip with real stakes, taking on 4 iconic courses - Leura GC, Mount Broughton GC, Gerringong GC, and Narooma GC - with one brutal bet on the line: break par across the series… or the beard gets shaved. 😬
Here’s the twist: his 3 kids have never seen him without a beard. So every missed putt, every risky pin hunt, every bounce off the trees? It’s not just a scorecard… it’s a countdown to a full identity crisis.
Expect big drives, bad lies, scenic fairways, pressure moments, and proper “why did I agree to this?” energy.
We sat down with "Aussie Beef" (AKA Ollie Neave), golf coach extraordinaire and Youtube superstar in the making to learn more:

For people who haven’t seen your show yet, how would you describe it in one sentence?
Chaotic golf exploration packaged in a pretty box with a bow!
Where does the name Beef come from?
Beef comes from when I transitioned from a playing career into teaching. I was enjoying my mini retirement too much on a beach in Mexico growing a beard and eating tacos. So when I got back all my mates started to call me Beef. I thought I’d keep the look/name to stand out from vanilla instruction.
What inspired you to make it?
Golf Youtube is booming! Both myself and Josh (Director+ Jack of all trades) have a particular set of skills that can highlight Australian Culture better than anyone. Just feel like the right duo to fly the flag! Plus I just say Yes to things that excite me.
How many courses have you played so far, and which one has surprised you the most?
In my life 1000’s, but I'm only a few months in this space. Queenscliff in Bellerine was a surprising adventure, King Island was unbelievable. This series Gerringong was a hidden gem.
Any unforgettable shots, blow-ups, or moments that didn’t go to plan?
Too many to list. The first day filming I managed to jag the longest ever Hole in one recorded on film (335M) with no shoes. Filming on a golf course nothing EVER goes to plan...
How important is fitness and nutrition to your golf performance?
As a coach it is vital for performance. Myself I’m on a bit of a health kick of late and wish I had the nutrition knowledge I have now during my playing days. During filming we are actually very disciplined as we are working sometimes 20 hrs a day and logging 20k steps. Golf has changed astronomically the past 2 decades. They are freak athletes now!
Why does something like a Chief Beef Bar work for you on the course?
Chief/Beef has been a perfect partnership for me. Mainly because I was already using the product. I have a high protein diet and the beef bars are the perfect snack to load up your golf bag for performance to maintain focus. (you usually have to skip a meal when you play).
Is there a bucket-list Australian course you’re still chasing?
Yes. Could be a giveaway of some content. We are keen on doing the Nullabor Links. 1400 km golf course across Australia.
What’s one mindset shift that’s made you a better golfer?
As my daughter sings to me daily, "Let it Gooooooooo"
What’s next for the show - more courses, different formats, or even international trips?
Depends where Chief sends us next 😉 We have some huge celebrities lined up for next series. Other than that just keep exploring and taking it hole by hole.
