These Salmon Patties with Sesame Crust are savoury and protein-packed! Made with fresh salmon, red onion, coriander, and a splash of tamari, they’re elevated with Chief Nutrition’s Grass-Fed Unflavoured Whey Protein for an extra boost of clean protein.
Rolled in a golden sesame seed crust, these patties are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavour. They’re rich in healthy fats, naturally gluten-free, and incredibly versatile—perfect on their own, or as a delicious addition to your favourite nourish bowl. Quick, wholesome, and satisfying, they make an easy weeknight dinner, a nourishing lunch, or even a high-protein snack on the go.
Ingredients
2 salmon fillets: skin off + finely chopped (approx. 280g)
2 tbsp finely chopped red onion
2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
1 tbsp tamari sauce (can use coconut aminos too!)
2 heaped tbsp Chief Nutrition Grass-Fed Unflavoured Whey Protein or Unflavoured Collagen Protein Powder
2 + tbsp buckwheat flour (can add more if the batter seems to be too sticky!)
1/2 tsp sesame oil
Salt + pepper to taste
1 tbsp organic olive oil-based mayo
1 tsp grated/minced ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp sesame seeds for the crust
2 tbsp ghee, tallow, or olive oil for frying
Directions
Add all your ingredients (minus the sesame seeds + olive oil) to a bowl and mix well until combined. Add more tbsp of the buckwheat flour as needed to stop too much sticking.
Roll into 6 even patties and flatten slightly. Add a tsp of sesame seeds to each pattie and pat down.
To a frying pan on medium heat, add your oil, ghee or tallow. Once hot, add the patties (non seed side down). Fry for approx. 3 minutes on each side.
Once cooked, serve as is or add to your favourite nourish bowl. Dig in and enjoy!
